Spun with mulesing free 21.5 micron merino wool, this phenomenal wool is plain and simple, just as nature intended. Clover’s round, 4 ply construction makes it perfect for all kinds of knits, including sweaters, scarves, hats and cowls. With its excellent stitch definition, cables pop in Clover. While Clover takes dye beautifully, you might have a hard time tampering with the wool’s beautiful, natural state. Clover is great for natural dyeing, and your customers will love having a fully natural option available for their most special projects.

Skeins
A skein is loop of yarn twisted into a helix shape. This shape is the most common presentation of hand dyed yarn you will see in a yarn store.
The skein is tied to prevent the yarn from getting tangled during dyeing. Skeined yarn needs no extra preparation to dye. Just untwist the skein to lay it flat and it’s ready for your dye process.
Pack
A pack is several skeins of yarn packaged together in a bag. Typically yarn comes in 5 or 10 skeins per pack, which equals 500 to 1000 grams, depending on the yarn type.
These skeins are twisted and come with a tag, so they are ready for retail shelves. If you choose to dye them, these skeins are great for beginners because they have a lower chance of getting tangled.
Folded Hanks
A hank is a loop of yarn that is folded instead of twisted like a skein. For bulk dyeing, folded hanks save time because you don’t need to untwist them before dyeing.
There is no difference between the yarn in a folded hank and a skein. Folded hanks come without tags and in 500 or 1000 gram packs, depending on the yarn type.

Mini Skeins

Cones
A cone is a length of yarn wound around a paper cone. Each cone weighs 1 kilo, the equivalent of 10, 100 gram skeins or 1000 grams.
Cones can be used to create extra long skeins for hand painting or gradients.
